Trauma can have a lasting impact on people’s wellbeing, relationships and experiences of services.
For Gypsy and Traveller people, experiences of discrimination, exclusion, racism and barriers to accessing support can contribute to trauma and make it more difficult to feel safe and build trust with professionals.
This webinar explores what trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are, how trauma may affect Gypsy and Traveller people, and what you can do to provide more compassionate, culturally responsive and trauma-informed support.
Drawing on years of experience in working with Gypsy and Traveller communities, the session will offer practical recommendations for applying trauma-informed principles in everyday work, alongside guidance on self-care and sustaining this work over time.
